Little Readers

We have been going to story time at the library every Tuesday. Ellie gets to pick three books each week, since she is three years old. She loves to read and loves reading to Millie.

And seriously, the new library is soooo nice. I love it.

The children

I really suck at blogging these days. I need to be cooler and do better.

Here are some recent quotes and pictures:

(We were loading into the car and there were two women across the street)
Ellie: "Look at those old womens! They are running away from me."

Me: "I am going to put you in the oven and eat you for dinner."
Ellie: "No, let's eat Millie instead!"

Ellie has been naming every imaginary horse she rides and horse she colors "Polka-Dot-Pie".

Ellie has also been "reading" books. She has been reading the Family Medical Guide and says it's a story about a girl name Mircle-Round.

This is why you don't leave a three year old alone with a box of Disney Princess bandaids.

I asked her why she put so many on and she said it was because she got burned in a fire.

Millie's baby blessing

Here are a few pictures from the luncheon afterwards at my parents house.

One year anniversary weekend

We spend our one year anniversary weekend in St. George with our little family. Since I am breastfeeding Millie, it's really hard to do anything without the girls, so we made it into a little family trip.

Friday night we drove down to Parawon and stayed with Mika's Aunt and Uncle. Ellie loves going to their house and defiantly loves playing with their dogs.

Saturday morning we got up and drove down to St. George. We went to Mika's cousin's football game. It was a 5th and 6th grader team, so it was a pretty relaxed and not super crazy. Aunt Jackie packed lots of snacks for Ellie. She had cheeto fingers the whole game. Next we went to Aunt Kaisa's soccer game. She plays for Dixie. The game was so hot. I put sunscreen on the girls multiple times. Both of them did really good for being out in the heat for so long. Kaisa's team won the game 1 to 0. After the game, my family, Mika's parents and his sister all went out to eat, just to a little sandwich place.

Saturday night me and Mika went out for a date. We had no clue what was around to do, so we went to a family fun center arcade place. We mini golfed and played arcade games, because we are so cool like that. We ended up staying at the arcade way longer than we planned, so when we were done, all the real restaurants were closed. So we went to the Dairy Queen drive-through and ate in the car.

Mika's not cool and doesn't smile for pictures.

Photobooth.

This guy kept asking Mika to play another game of basketball against him. They seriously played like 20 games together. I had to take a picture of Mika and his new date.

The adorable kickball we got with our tickets.

Sunday morning Mika & Ellie went to the hotel pool, while I stayed in the room with Millie. Then we drove back home.

It was a fun shot trip and defiantly not your typical one year anniversary vacation, but it was perfect. I am so glad I got to have a little get away with my little family.

Duck pond

Today we had to run a bunch of errands and I told Ellie if she could be really good, we would stop at the duck pond on our way home. Of course she was on her best behavior, so we stopped and got Wendy's to eat for a picnic and then headed to the duck pond.

Ellie had so much fun. She wanted to take a baby duck home with us and I told her it would miss it's mom. She then told me that we could just take the baby duck and the mom duck mom.

And in awesome-money-saving news, on one of our errands, we meet with our insurance agent and switch our car insurance. We now have much better coverage than before, plus we will be paying 100 dollars less a month. Oooh yeah.

Paper book wreath.

We used old books as center pieces at our wedding, therefore we have a huge box of old books, now just sitting at our house. Mika keeps telling me I need to do something with them or get rid of them. All of the books are so old and full of character, I don't just want to throw them out. So now I have to come up with some projects and uses for them.

 Official center piece.

Sign in table at our wedding.

So this is what I came up with:
My paper book wreath.

It was super easy, I should have made a tutorial, but I am not that cool.

Supplies:
One book
Foam wreath
About a yard of ribbon
Hot glue gun

1. Cut the book pages up into leaf shapes and fold/crease them in half.
2. Start glue them onto the foam wreath, layering them in a circle. I used a pencil to press each leaf down, so I didn't burn myself with the hot glue.
3. Just keep adding leafs, the more you add, the better it looks.
4. Hot glue some of the ribbon to the back, to make some form of a hook to hold it up.
5. Tie a bow and then stick it on the front somewhere.

Super easy & cheap.

Now I just need to come up with a few more things to do with the rest of the books.
(This project only took one book. Ha.)

Provo Beach Resort

Friday night we decided to go to the Provo Beach Resort

Ellie playing on the playground. Coolest play ground ever, it was huge!

Millie hanging out, eating her hands.

 Merry-go-Round.

 Playing arcade games.

Instead of having tokens, you use little debt cards at each game and then it loads your tickets onto the card, so you don't lose them. So cool.

 Playing skeet ball.

Millie sleeping during all the fun.

Mini bowling. It was the perfect way for Ellie to bowl. It was just her size.

Ellie with her Ariel balloon.

This place was seriously so much fun. There was so much to do and we didn't even do all of it. Me and Mika are hoping to go back soon without the girls and do all the adult stuff, we weren't able to do with the girls.

Ellie Quotes

Ellie: "Mom, what are you singing? Is that Justin Timberlake?"

Me: "What is your sister squeaking about?"
Ellie: "I took a drink of your drink and she squeaked and said, "hey that's mom's drink""!

Me: "Why are you and Avery fighting?"
Ellie: "Because Avery said this apple was an orange, but it's red!"

Me: "Who do you think Millie looks like?"
Ellie: "She looks like Rapunzel, bu she is just Mille."

Life update

Miss Amelia went to the doctor for her two month check up. She is now 10 pounds 9 ounces and 22 inches long. She is getting so big, almost double what she was at birth!
